As the Bible puts it, ...from the time that he had made him administrator in his home, and over all that he had, that the Lord favored the Egyptians house for Josephs purpose; and the gift of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field (Gen. 39:5). In this way, Potiphar more likely than not felt exceptionally lucky to have somebody overseeing his family unit so well.
